Supporting Parents of Children with Autism

At The Phoenix Center, we know that behind every child’s progress is a family’s dedication — and that families navigating autism need more support and recognition than ever.

Recently, TPC’s Executive Director, Julie Mower, was featured in NorthJersey.com with an important opinion piece titled, “NJ parents of kids with autism need our focus and support. Here’s why”.

In her article, Julie highlights a critical but often overlooked reality: while much attention is rightly placed on therapies and educational strategies for children with autism, the emotional, practical, and financial burdens borne by their parents and caregivers often go unseen. Without comprehensive support — like parent groups, respite services, and community understanding — caregivers face significant risks to their mental health and overall well-being.
